Product description:
LIQUID ICE MELT
FREEZE CONDITIONING AGENT & LIQUID ICE MELT
Severe wintertime material handling problems can be solved through the use of Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent and Liquid Ice Melt. Products that have been effectively freeze conditioned are: wood chips, coal, coke, dolomite and iron ore pellets.
Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agents & Liquid Ice melt functions by changing the crystalline structure of ice formed when the products surface moisture freezes. Modifying the crystalline structure lowers the physical strength of the ice that binds the frozen material together. Because Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt does not prevent the moisture from freezing; the treatment rates are affected by the amount of surface moisture present rather than upon the anticipated severity of the weather.
Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is sprayed directly onto conveyor belts to prevent build-up of ice and slippage of materials being moved. The chemical is usually sprayed without dilution. The treatment rate varies with the corresponding abrasive characteristics of the conveyed material. Treatment rates of one Litre per 1000 sq. Ft. of belt/per 8-hour shift have been successfully used for wood chips in the Prince George area. The treatment rate will vary, depending on different conditions.
Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is an organic fluid that is free of Sulphur, chlorides and heavy metals. The quality of the material being conveyed should not be affected by the chemical spray. Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agents & Liquid Ice Melt was initially designed for use with wood chips and pulp, and will not harm either chemically. The material has been found to do no apparent damage to conveyor belts and is non-corrosive to steel and other common metals. Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is a high performance, potassium acetate-based, clear liquid deicer that is effective to temperature below -15 degrees F. It replaces common salts like calcium and magnesium chloride. Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is intended for use as a pre-wetting agent to improve the performance of solid deicers like road salt and urea, or on sand. It may also be applied “as is†when speed is critical.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
1) PRE-WETTING AGENT-Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is an effective pre-wetting agents for CMA, road salt, other solid deicers, and sand. Because Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt has a very low freezing point -26°C (-15°F) and below and is a clear liquid, it significantly improves the performance of solids and does not clog spray nozzles. Applications rates follow and should be consider starting points as local conditions have a significant effect on fluid requirements.
2) ANTI-ICER- Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is an effective anti-icer, sprayed on the pavement before precipitation actually starts. A high traction film then exists to prevent adhesion of ice and snow, which is then mechanically removed. Uniform coverage and frequent plowing to prevent fluid dilution are important considerations in anti-icing programs. This technique is commonly used to keep bridge decks from freezing.
3) DEICER-
a) Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is an effective deicer applied on top of snow and ice. Experience suggests the fluid works best as a deicer if applied in narrow band (10-to 15 cm/4 to 6 in centers). Banding the fluid minimizes dilution from melting, allowing Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt to penetrate to the pavement to break the bonds of ice and snow prior to mechanical removal. Suggested application rates follow.
B) Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is also used as an aid to solid deicers in heavy ice situations. Here, a solid deicer is first applied to punch holes in the ice. Then Envirosafe Freeze Conditioning Agent & Liquid Ice Melt is applied over the top, penetrating through the holes to the surface, quickly breaking the ice-to pavement bonds so that mechanical removal can be more easily accomplished.
